Manifestation Magic

The word manifestation is getting thrown around alot at the moment so I want to clear up what it actually means and how you can incorporate it to further align your life. Manifestation is basically how your thoughts, feelings and beliefs create your physical reality. Delving into reflection, beliefs and emotions in the previous chapters have laid the foundation for manifestation. 

One of the best explanations of manifestation I have come across is Jordanna Levins ‘Manifestation Equation’. She basically says that in order to successfully manifest anything into your life whether it be money, love, a new career or self-love, then four things need to happen. 

Most people think The Law of Attraction is what manifesting is all about which is that like attracts like. If manifesting only comes down to our thoughts, this would mean that anything we thought would become a reality. If only it were that easy! It also doesn’t work the other way either in that if you think a few negative thoughts, the world isn’t going to crumble down. I am a big believer in debunking your belief systems as seen in Chapter three, and filling your mind with positive thoughts as this can have a huge impact on the quality of your life. But we need to realise that we think between 50 000 to 80 000 thoughts a day and 90% of these are repeated thoughts from the day before and the day before that. 

If we do a simple exercise of questioning the thoughts that come into our minds and ask ourselves questions like, is this the absolute truth? Is it really 100% without a doubt true or is it based on my perception and my beliefs? Starting this process will enable us to be the thinker of our thoughts instead of the thoughts governing us and therefore increases our self-awareness. When we do this, we harness the energy of this part of the manifestation equation. 

So if thinking alone isn’t going to manifest what we desire in our lives, what else can we do? We can feel and this relates to The Law of Vibration which states everything in the universe has a frequency and a vibration, nothing ever stands still, as everything is always either being pushed away or pulled toward something. So we need to start vibrating on a similar frequency to the things we are trying to attract and the easiest way to shift our own vibration is through feeling. But how does one do that? 

When we move our bodies we release neurotransmitters such as dopamine, which is the feel good chemical. Ever felt a release of anger after going for a run or become emotional after a yoga session or extremely happy after dancing? That’s because by simply moving your body you’ve provoked a vibrational shift, and emotions that have been ignored, suppressed or simply bypassed are being pushed to the surface. This is our opportunity to feel these emotions. By tapping into and bringing conscious awareness to our feelings, we can make significant changes to our vibrational frequency and manifestation practice.

But here’s the thing about feelings. We tend to think about our feelings instead of actually feeling them. When we don’t let ourselves feel our feelings and instead choose to ignore or suppress them, they manifest in all the areas of our life, often showing up as confrontations, lessons or physical symptoms and even illness. So how do we feel our feelings? First, we need to acknowledge that they are neither good nor bad, just neutral. Then, just like you did with your thoughts; what feelings are true and necessary? What feelings do you have the power to shift and upgrade? Are you truly feeling them or just thinking them?

So if we debunk our thoughts and bring consciousness awareness to our feelings, what is the next part of the manifestation equation? Action! Que The Law of Inspired Action, which is all about taking inspired, high-vibrational action towards our goals. Remember, the more action we take, the more motivated we become and the more motivated we are, the more action we take. You’ll achieve much more success, more quickly, if you take inspired action with the Law of Attraction, which is why both of these are a critical part of the manifestation equation. 

Small, consistent action is better than ‘massive action’ that fades. James Clear in his book Atomic Habits explains why small habits make a big difference stating “too often we convince ourselves that massive success requires massive action.. Improving by one percent isn’t particularly notable, sometimes it isn’t even noticeable, but it can be far more meaningful, especially in the long run.” He explains that if we improve by one percent everyday for one year, you will end up thirty seven times better by the time the year is finished (ref). Its all about taking small consistent action. 

The last piece of the manifestation equation is all about faith. A lot of people believe that faith is related with religion. Faith is not ruled by a set of principles and guidelines that have been passed down from generation to generation in which are spoken on behalf of someone for us to listen to, but rather faith is a set of personal values. 

Jordanna Levin describes faith as “an unwavering confidence that you are being fully supported by not only your own vibrations but also by your vibrations outside of yourself. Having faith that there is a greater force at play whether you call it God, Source, Devine or anything else that resonates, enables us to tap into one of the highest vibrational frequencies there is which is why faith is an integral part of the Manifestation Equation. Faith is related to The Law of Rhythm which tells us that there are patterns, rhythms, cycles and seasons and that everything is moving and changing. Just like the waves coming onto the sand and retreating back to the sea, our life has ebbs and flows and everything is serving a purpose and a function in the universe’s greater plan. 

It can be tough in a moment of overwhelm or despair to surrender and know that something bigger is at play. But having that unwavering faith and knowing that something around the corner is coming that is meant for you is comforting. When we question our thoughts, feel our feelings, take consistent action and have strong faith in the universe, that’s when we can start manifesting like a boss.
