Have you ever considered that there is something bigger at play? That there is more than just the physical world? We all learn about physics in high school but we never go beyond that. There is a saying “I’ll believe it when I see it” but the more awakened I become, the more I am starting to realise the energy that surrounds me, that there are no coincidences and that there is in fact something bigger at play.
Unless we can physically see, touch, taste or smell something, it can be hard to comprehend that anything else exists. It has to be tangible for it to be real. But what about when we enter a room and feel like something is ‘off’. Or we spark up a conversation with someone and it just flows effortlessly and we feel we can be ourselves. How do we explain this? It’s called energy.
The day I stumbled across a quote from Albert Einstein, was the day I fell down the rabbit hole of energy and The Twelve Universal Laws. He stated “Everything is energy and that’s all there is to it. Match the frequency of the reality you want and you cannot help but get that reality. It can be no other way. This is not philosophy. This is physics.”
Put simply, everything in this entire universe is made of atoms. Inside atoms are what’s called a nucleus which is around 100,000 times smaller than the atoms they’re housed in. Therefore, atoms are almost entirely, 99.9999999 percent, empty space. To put this into perspective, if the nucleus were the size of a peanut, the atom would be about the size of a baseball stadium. So what takes up the rest of the space? Energy. So the concept is that we are only 1% matter and 99% energy.
Having a basic understanding of energy and The Twelve Universal Laws not only opens a whole new world of possibilities for us, but it is yet another piece to the intricate puzzle of awakening and aligning ourselves to the life of our dreams.
The Twelve Universal Laws starts with the Law of Divine Oneness which sets the foundation for all other laws to be built on. It states that everything is connected in some way shape or form, like an interconnected web of energy. Everything we do sends vibrations throughout the entire web, affecting the collective consciousness. We can view this as a ripple effect in that anything we do has an effect on the universe. The take away from this law is that your actions always matter and make a difference.
Next up is the Law of Vibration which Novalee Wilder, a numerologist and author, states “Everything in the universe has a frequency and a vibration, nothing ever stands still, as everything is always either being pushed away or pulled toward something.” When items have a similar vibration, they become attracted to each other. Have you ever pulled an oracle card and thought “wow this really resonates” and think it must be coincidence? The card is vibrating at the same frequency you are so you were drawn to it and it was drawn to you. The take away from this law is that you must match your vibration with that of what you want.
The Law of Correspondence states your outer world is always a reflection of your inner world like the quote goes “As above, so below; as within, so without”. The take away from this law is that our current reality is a mirror of what is going on inside us.
The premise behind the Law of Attraction is that like attracts like. Ever heard the saying “the words you speak become the house you live in?” That’s because the universe has ears and whatever you are putting out into the universe, it is bringing back to you and therefore creating your reality. This law can be taken in a negative way in that negative thoughts or low vibration energy can destroy or wreak havoc on someone’s life but this is not the case as you are fully capable of making other decisions and attracting a different set of circumstances. The take away from this law is about focussing your attention on what you want so you can get more of it.
Before we move onto the next law, I want to share an experience I have had which applies The law of Correspondence, The Law of Vibration and the Law of Attraction! A few years ago, I sat down with a lady who wanted to sign up to my gym and we ended up having a conversation about commitment. When I asked her how committed she was to achieving her goal, she answered a seven out of ten. I asked her, how can we move from a seven out of ten to a ten out of ten? What is stopping you from being a 10? That’s when some magic happened.
She said to me working out is hard, I always get so sore and I need to look after the kids all day so it’s too painful. She went on to say that she didn’t want to experience the fatigue that came with working out and what if, after a few weeks of working out, that she didn’t change? That she didn’t lose weight? Then all that pain would have been for nothing.
This mindset has stopped her from achieving her goals since having kids five years ago. I then asked her “what if working out equalled pleasure instead of pain?” She gave me a look as if working out couldn’t possibly be pleasurable. Like I was insane for even thinking it! I said to her, you have been putting all your energy into thinking that working out is painful and that has therefore created your reality. I suggested, what if you associated working out with positives, benefits? Such as, ‘every workout will get me one step closer to my goals’, ‘working out makes me feel strong and young again’, ‘working out gives me more energy to play with my kids’, ‘working out gives me the confidence to wear clothes I haven’t worn in years’ and ‘working out makes my relationship stronger as I have more self love’. When we start to focus on the positives rather than negatives, we shift our energy accordingly.
We then shifted her mindset and attached pain to not working out which led to things like not being a role model for her kids, uncomfortable in clothes, lacking confidence, lacking energy to play with kids, lack of intimacy with her partner. The pain of working out soon became smaller than the pain of not working out and within thirty minutes her energy had already started to shift and she signed on to start the next week.
The Law of Inspired Action is all about taking action! We need to take inspired, high-vibrational action towards our goals. This relates back when I discussed Mark Mansons theory of action leads to motivation. The more action we take, the more motivated we become and the more motivated we are, the more action we take. The take away from this law is that you’ll achieve much more success, more quickly, if you take inspired action with the Law of Attraction.
We then have the Law of Perpetual Transmutation of Energy which states that energy is always in a state of motion. All energy in motion eventually manifests into physical form and can manifest back into energy. This law is a beautiful reminder that we are changing all the time. We move through different seasons in our lives and we are never stuck. The take away from this law is energy is always moving and always changing.
The Law of cause and effect otherwise known as Karma states that any action causes a reaction. Anything you put out into the universe, whether it be good or bad, comes back. Nothing happens by chance. It is all a reflection and reaction from the action we have taken in our lives. This law reminds us to focus on sending out positive vibes and to be mindful of how we act.
The Law of Compensation is all about sowing and reaping. We need to trust that all of our hard work and contributions will always be compensated for. The more self-aware we are, the easier it is for us to see what the universe is reaping us with. The take away from this law is that we are rewarded for our right actions.
Next is The Law of Relativity which states that everything is neutral and things in our lives only have meaning because we give them meaning. Every single decision a person makes is relative to some other decision they have made in the past. Having an understanding of this law can help with seeing things from a different perspective and therefore not judging. The take away from this law is that everything is relative to something else.
The Law of Polarity is that everything in the universe has the polar opposite and that one cannot exist without the other. This polarity is all part of the human experience. We cannot experience deep happiness without deep sadness. We cannot experience the joy of success without experiencing the hardships of failure.
The Law of Rhythm or Perpetual Motion tells us that there are patterns, rhythms, cycles and seasons and that everything is moving and changing. Just like the waves coming onto the sand and retreating back to the sea, our life has ebbs and flows and everything is serving a purpose and a function in the universe’s plan.
The last law is The Law of Gender which explains the masculine and feminine energies in life and how these need to be in balance. David Daniel explains “Many people may think that these are opposing forces when in reality they are complementary forces that cannot exist without one another.” (ref) Manifestation requires a balance of energies.
Let’s take a minute to reflect on the concept of energy and the 12 Universal Laws.
• Can I allow myself to be curious that something bigger than myself is at play?
• Do I believe in coincidences?
• Can I see how The Law of Attraction has played out in my life?
• Am I open to seeing how these laws have had an impact on my life?
Understanding the concept of energy and The Twelve Universal laws allows us to acknowledge and surrender to what is already happening within the universe. These laws are happening regardless of whether we accept them or not, so why not tap into what is available to us and use it to align our life so that we can thrive.
